Come With Us: Czech Republic
This is the beginning of us. The Czech Republic. It was where we first met in 2009 and reunited in 2012; it was where we became inseparable; it was where we found and bought Mork. Welcome to our beginning!
We took a trip to Mikulov and surroundings, a sort of ‘travel test’ to see how well we’d deal with each other.
We spent a night at this castle and shared a bonfire with other campers. Until it started raining and we all ended up sleeping in the former dungeon.
It ain’t easy making morning coffee the old-fashioned way, especially when you’re tired.
The countryside was really beautiful. Surprisingly lush and vibrant.
Testing* out how to share a small space even before we thought about getting a van. We both passed with flying colors. Grin.
This is probably the point we realized walking long-distance kind of isn’t our thing.
Armando ran out of money. Hmmm… fine arts background. Sexy chalks. Let’s go make some cash on the street!
He didn’t just draw images, but added quotes and inspiring ideas.
This is the result of intensive work days on asphalt.
He found the most joy in sharing his art and passion with people when he went to Prague.
The first official picture of Mork, seen by Armando from the hostel he was staying at.
Just a week later we were ready. This was our last photo before we went officially on the road and left the Czech Republic.
The site of our first romantic dinner in Budapest. We had no: plates, silverware beyond a fork, pots or pans. Nada. So we used the fork to cook hotdogs on the stove’s open flame. Romantic, indeed-!
On our incredibly long drive, straight through, which took 24 hours. Exhaustion and slight shock (are we really doing this?) caught up with us in our 2nd country: Bulgaria.
